The idea is simple.

Weekly Winlink With KE7ADD, or WWW-KE7ADD, is a weekly amateur radio challenge designed to help operators practice Winlink, explore different digital communication methods, and strengthen emergency communications skills. Operators of every experience level are welcome, from beginners using Telnet to experienced participants using packet, VARA FM, APRSLink, HF, portable stations, and backup power.

Participants send Winlink check-ins to KE7ADD using the official check-in template. The weekly period runs from Monday through Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Each successful check-in earns points based on the method used, and all qualifying points earned during the week are added together. Additional bonuses are available for trying a mode for the first time during the season, operating portable or mobile, and using emergency power.

Participants may also complete monthly Mode Bingo activities for extra points. To encourage meaningful practice, only one check-in of the same type may earn credit per day, although operators may use several different methods on the same day. Scores are updated on the public leaderboard during the week, with the final weekly results posted after the Saturday deadline.

The overall purpose of WWW-KE7ADD is not simply competition. It is to encourage regular participation, experimentation, and practical experience with communication systems that may be valuable during emergencies.
